Long Island Sound SHARKS FOOTBALL Welcome to the 2018 Sharks Football Season

We are excited to welcome you to the 2018 Shark's Friday Night Lights Flag Football Season!! Even more exciting, this year we are offering Flag Football for Grades K-8!

Last year over 300 boys AND girls participated in our program! This year we are hoping to bring that number to over 400 players welcoming, once again, both BOYS and GIRLS!!!
Registration is open to all players, boys AND girls, Grades K-8. Early registration this season begins now through February 15, 2018 at a cost of $80.00per player.

Late Registration will run from February 16, 2018 through April 15, 2018 at a cost of $95.00 per player.
**Registration includes your own Shark's Flag Football T-Shirt to keep!**

***Please note: We will do our best to accommodate any special requests regarding team placement, however cannot guarantee we can accommodate everyone***

The season will run from April 27, 2018 through June 15, 2018. That's 8 weeks of Flag Football Fun!
Once again, we have a lot of fun things planned for this upcoming season!!

Our program's goal is to provide an environment of friendly competition while instilling the importance of teamwork.

Once again we will be running a clinic prior to the season for any players interested in Flag Football but want to learn more before signing up. The clinic will cost $5.00 a player with lots of exciting activities for the kids.

Please be on the lookout for the date of our clinic. Our own Steve Opelia, Shark's coach, will be running this fun filled clinic.

Again this year we will be offering a FREE coaches clinic to encourage any parents interested in coaching a team to learn the basic fundamentals of Flag Football and how to successfully coach a team. Our league depends on volunteers and the more coaches we have, the more teams we will have in each age group.

The coaches clinic will take place at the end of March to allow adequate time to coordinate teams.

Last year, coaching was a struggle so we are encouraging anyone interested to please attend.

Once again, we are looking forward to the warm spring weather and another exciting season of Shark's Friday Night LightsFlag Football!

Sharks Football Mission Statement
It is the Mission of the Long Island Sound Sharks PAL Youth Football League to educate each child on the proper fundamental skills that are necessary to play the game of football. It is our goal to have these children transfer these skills learned through the PAL program to the secondary level of junior & senior high school. Our coaches will serve as positive role models for all our athletes. They will recognize that the purpose of athletics is to promote the physical, mental, moral, social and emotional well-being of the individual players. They have the power to teach not just football, but the intangibles; leadership, self confidence, character and sportsmanship. All of our parents, coaches and players will abide by the Long Island Sound Sharks PAL Code of Ethics. Most importantly lets remember that this is not an athletic contest at this level. It is only a game and it should be fun for the child and not a matter of life or death for player, coach or parent.
